If you are under the age of 13, you are prohibited from creating an account or using the app. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access for users who do not meet this eligibility requirement.

2. User Conduct and Responsibilities

As a user of ShredSpots, you agree to abide by the following guidelines to maintain a safe and respectful community:

• Compliance with Laws: You are solely responsible for adhering to all local, state, national, and international laws, rules, and regulations that may apply to your use of the app.

• Prohibited Actions: You agree not to engage in the following prohibited activities:

• Accessing or using the app’s content through unauthorized means, such as bots, scripts, or scraping tools.

• Using ShredSpots for any commercial or promotional purposes not expressly permitted by these Terms.

• Sharing content that infringes on intellectual property rights, promotes illegal activities, or violates privacy standards.

• Attempting to bypass security measures, tamper with app functionality, or introduce viruses or malware.

• Engaging in abusive behavior, including but not limited to harassment, threats, or discriminatory language toward other users.

• Content Standards: Any content you upload, post, or share must not violate copyright, privacy rights, or any applicable laws.

Violations of these conduct guidelines may result in account suspension, termination, and/or legal action.

3. Account Registration, Onboarding, and Profile Information

To use ShredSpots, you must register an account by providing a valid phone number, verifying it via SMS, and creating a profile, which includes setting a display name and optional nickname. The onboarding process may request optional access to your device’s contacts to connect you with friends who are already on ShredSpots.

• Phone Verification: This process ensures the security and authenticity of user accounts.

• Profile Settings: You may edit your profile details at any time and manage who can view specific elements of your information based on your chosen privacy settings.

4. Privacy and Data Collection

Your privacy is of utmost importance to us. For more information about how we collect, use, and protect your personal information, please refer to the ShredSpots Privacy Policy.

• Personal Information: We collect personal information as outlined in our Privacy Policy, including details provided during account registration and usage data. Your personal data will be handled with care and used only for enhancing your experience on ShredSpots.

• Use of Third-Party Services: ShredSpots utilizes third-party analytics and performance monitoring tools. These third parties are contractually obligated to protect your information and are limited in how they may use it.

5. Location Services and Contact Permissions

ShredSpots uses location and contact permissions to enhance your experience and facilitate connections within the app. These permissions are optional and can be managed via your device’s settings.

5.1 Location Access

With your permission, ShredSpots may access your device's location to show nearby skate spots and suggest relevant content. We only use this data in-app and do not store or share it externally.

• Cached Location: If your GPS signal is weak, ShredSpots may use your last known location stored on your device to maintain smooth functionality. If no cached location is available, we will default to a general map view.

5.2 Contact Access

ShredSpots may request access to your device’s contacts to help you connect with friends who are already using the app. This access is optional and can be revoked at any time.

• Data Handling: Contact information is processed locally on your device. No contact details are uploaded to ShredSpots’ servers or shared with any third parties.

• User Control: You can deny contact access without impacting other app functionality, and you may still invite friends through social media or by sharing a direct link.

6. Social Features: Followers and Followed Feed

ShredSpots is a community-driven platform that enables users to follow other users and access content from people they follow through a personalized Followed Feed.

• Follower Privacy: Users can choose to make their follower lists private or public. Your followers are visible to you, and other users’ follower lists are only visible if they choose to share them.

• Content Sharing: By following others, you agree to receive updates from users you follow in your Followed Feed. You may unfollow or block users at any time to control your feed.

7. Notifications and In-App Communication

ShredSpots uses notifications to inform you of activities, such as new followers, updates from users you follow, and relevant content in the app. Notifications are managed through the YO Notification Center.

• Notification Management: You have full control over your notification preferences and may enable, disable, or customize notifications via your device settings.

• In-App Communication: ShredSpots may occasionally send in-app messages to inform you about updates, new features, or other relevant information. You may opt out of certain in-app communication settings if preferred.

8. Content Ownership and User Contributions

8.1 User-Generated Content

ShredSpots allows users to upload, share, and post various types of content, including photos, videos, comments, and other media.

• License to ShredSpots: By sharing content on ShredSpots, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, display, and share this content within the app for promotional and engagement purposes.

• Content Responsibility: You are responsible for ensuring that any content you upload complies with copyright laws, privacy standards, and community guidelines.

8.2 ShredSpots Content

All content, code, and functionality within ShredSpots is protected by intellectual property laws. Users may not copy, modify, or distribute ShredSpots' proprietary content without written permission.

9. Safety and Liability Waiver

ShredSpots provides skateboarding information, including maps, spots, and community interactions. However, users acknowledge that skateboarding carries inherent risks, and ShredSpots is not liable for any injuries, damages, or incidents that occur while using the app.

• User Responsibility: By using ShredSpots, you assume all risks associated with skateboarding activities and agree to exercise caution and judgment.

10. Limitations of Liability

ShredSpots, its affiliates, and service providers are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app. This includes but is not limited to loss of data, loss of goodwill, and interruptions in service.

• No Warranties: ShredSpots is provided "as-is" without any warranties. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, accuracy, or fitness for a particular purpose.

11. Account Suspension, Termination, and Cancellation

ShredSpots reserves the right to suspend, terminate, or restrict access to accounts that violate these Terms or engage in prohibited activities, including unauthorized scraping, spamming, or abusive behavior.

• Account Deactivation: If your account is terminated, you will no longer have access to ShredSpots, your user content, or support services.

12. Intellectual Property Rights

All intellectual property rights related to ShredSpots, including trademarks, logos, design elements, and code, are owned exclusively by ShredSpots. Users may not modify, distribute, or use ShredSpots' intellectual property without written consent.

We welcome feedback and suggestions to improve ShredSpots. Any feedback submitted becomes the sole property of ShredSpots, and we may use it without obligation to compensate you.

15. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, without regard to conflicts of laws principles. Any disputes arising out of or related to these Terms will be resolved through binding arbitration in New Jersey, or through state courts if arbitration is waived.

Users may not access or use ShredSpots in countries subject to U.S. government embargoes or restrictions. By using ShredSpots, you agree to comply with all applicable export control laws and not to use the app for prohibited purposes.
